Since the written word began people have been on a quest to protect it. Warnings were carved on clay tablets then carefully written in illuminated books by medieval scribes. These book curses where an effective measure against potential thieves. They threaten the reader with bodily harm and hellfire. Nowadays we are not compelled to use such warnings to protect our books but what about our phone, tablets and computers? My aim is to harness the power of book curses to ward off potential thieves or nosey friends through an easy to download app.
